Our Heritage

Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge, which is dedicated to preparing Christian men and women to accomplish the mission of the church and to perform their roles effectively in the home, church, and society, is an outgrowth of Louisiana Christian Institute. This Institute was organized in 1973 under the direction of Dr. B. J. Robinson, Dr. R. Wilson, Dr. E. C. Gumms, and other dedicated Christian men and women, and was under the spiritual and financial sponsorship of the West New Orleans Missionary and Educational Baptist Association.

In subsequent years, the Louisiana Christian Institute became independent of the Bible Association, the name of the school was changed to Christian Bible College of Louisiana; and extension units were established under the directions of Dr. A. P. Clay, Sr. Christian Bible College - Baton Rouge Extension, was organized in 1977 as a result of the efforts of Dr. Jasper Roper and Dr. H. B. Williams; was relocated in 1984 under the directions of Dr. Clay and Dr. Roper; and was moved to permanent housing in 1985.  The school was then chartered as the Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge.

In the tradition of a noble heritage, the administration, faculty, and students of Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge are dedicated to "Study to show thyself approved … rightly dividing the world of truth" (II Timothy 2:15).
